Carlota Ciganda strengthens her path to the 2023 Solheim Cup

The player from Navarre strengthens her chances of defending Europe from 18th to 24th September at Finca Cortesin after her victory in the Aramco Team Series Florida, which is also her seventh win on the Ladies European Tour

Carlota Ciganda has achieved an important victory by winning the Aramco Team Series Florida, which is part of the Ladies European Tour. A victory that becomes the seventh of the spanish player in this circuit and that underpins her chances of qualifying directly for the European Solheim Cup 2023 team.

In fact, Carlota Ciganda has made a great leap in both rankings that will be used to make up the European team that will fase the U.S Team at Finca Cortesín from 18th to 24th September.

In the world rankings, she is in sixth position, the last one that gives access to the team captained by Suzann Pettersen. Ahead of the Spanish golfer are Georgia Hall, Celine Boutier, Leona Maguire, Charley Hull and Madelene Sagstrom.

As for the LET rankings, which continue to be dominated by the Swedes Linn Grant and Maja Stark, Carlota Ciganda has taken third place from Ana Peláez, who is now in fourth place. However, the player from Malaga would be in third position as Ciganda is classified by the world ranking.

No change in the US rankings

The LPGA had no tournament last weekend, so the rankings for the U.S Team for the Solheim Cup have hardly changed except for slight changes in the scores of Alisen Corpuz and Jessica Korda, first and second position in the world ranking.

As for the LPGA rankings, they continue to be led by Nelly Korda, ahead of Lilia Vu, Danielle Kang, Lexi Thompson, Megan Khang, Jennifer Kupcho and Andrea Lee.
