The player from Navarre has finished in a brilliant fifth place in the DIO Implant LA Open, corresponding to the LPGA, which has been won by the Chinese Ruoning Yin, and is fifth in the LET ranking for the European team for the Solheim Cup 2023
Carlota Ciganda achieved a valuable fifth position in the LPGA´S DIO Implant LA Open, played at the Californian course of Palos Verdes Golf Club and won by the Chinese Ruoning Yin.
The position achieved by the Navarre golfer also places her fifth in the Ladies European Tour ranking for the Solheim Cup 2023 and it is also worth mentioning the second consecutive place in an LPGA tournament of the British Georgia Hall, which confirms her great form.
Likewise, the result of the English golfer has allowed her to get closer to the French Celine Boutier, the first in the world ranking that gives access to the European team for the Solheim Cup 2023, just 27 tenths of a point.
The other LET list for the tournament to be held at Finca Cortesin from September 18th to 24th, has hardly had any variations, since there has been no competition in the Women’s European Tour, and therefore, Ana Peláez still keeps her third position behind the Swedes Maja Stark and Linn Grant.
As for the LPGA rankings for the 2023 Solheim Cup, Nelly Korda, who shared ranking with Carlota Ciganda at the DIO Implant LA Open, continues to lead the American Women’s Tour rankings and has extended her lead over second-ranked Lilia Vu.
And as for the world ranking for the U.S. team, it continues to be led by Jessica Korda, who was eighteenth in California, followed closely by Allisen Corpuz, although she was ranked 61st.
